Your Post Code
Your National Insurance Number

There are understandable and legitimate reasons why someone will need access to your driving licence details before you drive their vehicle.

You might need to share your driving licence information with:

A Driving School
A Car Hire Company
An Employer

The information can be shared either:

By you giving them your driving licence number, post code and national insurance number
Or by you logging in to the GOV.UK website yourself and generating a code that will enable them to check your details
- The code will only allow your details to be accessed on one occasion
